Chiffchaff / Mosquitero común
Maximum size: 12 cm
They can be seen in wetlands, ponds, woods near rivers, orchards, riverbanks,
cane fields, reed beds, irrigation canals and even in parks, gardens and
riverbeds in urban areas and cities.
They can also be seen in groups flying around the seashore, particularly
in winter. They feed on insects.
Some individuals make long-distance migrations from the centre of Europe.
Although they can be found all through the year, their maximum numbers
are in winter.
