Black Redstart / Colirojo tizón
Maximum size: 15 cm / 24 cm wingspan
They colonise anywhere from coastal areas to high mountains, and they
are frequent in parks and clear-land near forests.
They are trusting and they do not flee from human presence.
They can be seen in wetlands and lagoon areas in the south of the Iberian
Their colours are lighter in the coastal areas and darker in higher
lands. Their tails have a noticeable red colour, including the individuals
of the subspecies gibraltarensis.
They feed on insects, spiders, and berries.
