Black Kite / MIlano negro
Maximum size: 60 to 180 cm wingspan
They can be seen in clear spaces in the woods, the margins of forests,
urban-area surroundings, agricultural farmlands and in the vicinity of
cattle-farms. They prefer to prey near wetlands, lagoons, marshes, lakes
They spend the summer in Spain. They nest in woods and grasslands with
trees ‘dehesa’. They are more abundant in the breeding season.
They feed on fish, birds and small mammals.
They are abundant in Doñana, even near urban areas where the
profit from leftovers.
